Nan is so positive, so enthusiastic, so warm and funny that it literally bowls you over when you meet her. She and Josh planned their wedding “long-distance together”, with Nan at home in Boston and Josh overseas in Afghanistan serving in the Marine Corps. What they managed to do with all that distance between them was to create an epic party for all of their friends (most of which they’ve both known since childhood since Nan and Josh went to high school together) and family. The day had a tribute to Halloween (their favorite holiday) with a sprinkling of pumpkins, skulls, Day of the Dead touches, and costumes for the PhotoLounge. The rest of the decor had a fun, vintage flair and blended perfectly. We know it was hard for Nan and Josh to be apart while Josh was serving our country. We’re just so happy for them that they had they wedding of their dreams to kick-start their married life TOGETHER! Congratulations to a truly inspirational and deserving couple.

marion + scott’s wedding at castle hill newport, ri

Marion and Scott met on the beach, so it’s only fitting that they should have an elegant seaside wedding at Castle Hill in Newport. The incomparable Wendy Joblon of Wendy Joblon Events was on hand to make everything run as smooth as glass. Marion and Scott couldn’t be more perfectly matched. They are both absolutely hilarious. Marion keeps you on her toes with her quick wit and her funny expressions are endless. Scott and Marion adore being surrounded by their big, loud, fun, gang of friends. They are dedicated to their families. They are in short, a remarkable couple. We had some very cool weather that ranged from soft golden autumn light to romantic grey fog and made for some exciting snapping. We must acknowledge Stoneblossom who created the lovely romantic bouquets and lavish centerpieces. Marion is a teacher, and we got such a kick out of the drawings her students made for her wedding! We are so happy for Marion and Scott knowing that they are going to share a lifetime of good times and laughter.

After we shoot a wedding and we load the photos into the computer it’s always fun to see what the bride and the groom were doing simultaneously but separately. As Kim and Lee were getting ready, the photos of them looking in the mirror, reading their cards to each other, and posing with their bridesmaids/groomsmen lined up to the minute! it doesn’t suprise us really, because they are two peas in a pod … a perfect pair… in sync and exactly suited for one another. When you are marrying your soul mate, life is good and the good times just ooze over into all the photos!

We us the word sparkle around here a lot. It’s a favorite snap expression. We use it to describe when we are really in the photo groove, and we call it giving them {our clients} the “sparkle routine.” We also use it to describe people who kinda of glow from the inside out, and btw… those are our favorite kind of people to photograph. Here’s a girl {Lauren} who sparkles from the inside out and then covers her sparkle with …. more sparkle! The sparkle factor {organic, existing naturally inside Lauren for all the world to enjoy} topped with sparkles {bling} is a combo that really can’t be beat. Anyone can bling it- but not everyone can BRING it and BLING it… know what we mean? Lauren brings it and blings it and that’s why she gets our “sparkliest bride of 2012 award.” As if that isn’t amazing enough, we add to this recipe Chris… he oozes happiness, joy, and a full and sincere appreciation for Lauren’s inherint sparkle. That is why Chris will now receive our “most psyched to be getting married groom of 2012” award. It may be a little premature to give out these awards, given it’s only August, but we figure it will be inspiration for everyone else to ramp up their pysched-ness and sparklyness.

if you were to look up “all american” in the dictionary you’d probably see a photo of sarah and zack staring back at you. smart, good looking, athletic, kind, fun loving, in short- good people with great families. it’s been such a pleasure to get to know sarah and zack over the last year or so. we not only gained a great couple- we also gained a whole team of great friends and family (led by none other than nancy tags… the mob). sarah and her mom certainly had a vision for this day and i have a feeling that all their dreams really did come true. it was flawless, it was fun, it was a smooth as butter! watching sarah and her mom dance together at the end of the night really said it all. this was a home run night with an allstar team! go team taglienti!!!
