We were so happy to be a part of Kim and Dan’s wedding. One word to sum up the event? Classy… definition: stylish, having panache. Obviously they have impeccable taste {they chose each other after all!} But they also assembled a dream team of vendors who went all out to make their wedding truly spectacular. Dan and Kim are sweet people who were so happy to be surrounded by their friends and family and so grateful to have had such an elegant evening. We are just so grateful that we were on hand to document it!

We like to think that we are pretty fun over here at snap! Well, at least that’s what we used to think. Ashley and Evan give a whole new meaning to the word fun. They have fun together, fun with their friends, fun with their family, and Evan even seems to have a lot of fun all by himself! We’ve never been to a wedding where the groom spent more time hovering about 10 feet above the dance floor than he did actually on the dance floor. We’ve also never been to a wedding where the bride wore a mustache and red glitter Wizard of Oz shoes at the reception. Also a first… being literally dragged through the reception by Evan who wanted to document all his friends sharing in his passion for hot dogs. Admittedly there were a few moments where we feared for our lives, i.e. falling through the dance floor after it seemed it might collapse from the pulsing crowd of very enthusiastic dancers, and also being crushed several times on the dance floor during the 20 minutes of harried hora dancing. Even though it was a possibility that this might have been our last night on earth, we could take comfort in knowing that we were going out with a major BANG!

jenny + michael’s wedding at belle mer, newport ri

We are often asked what makes one wedding stand out from another. The thing that really sets a wedding apart from the rest is the families involved. Jenny and Michael both have wonderful families. Everyone was brimming with joy and pride for Jenny and Michael, and you could feel it. It’s so affirming to be around such happiness and affection, it always rubs off on us and on the photos! Jenny is simply adored by her father and two brothers. When we were photographing Jenny’s portrait before the ceremony they each came to see her individually but each had the same reaction…. they were stunned by her loveliness, held her hand and told her they loved her…just like that, one after the other. When her father came in to see her he also threw in a “I’m so proud of you” for good measure. {Kleenex please…sniffle}. Jenny is already a favorite auntie to Michael’s sisters children, the two flowergirls and the ringbearer. Just when you thought the family cuteness factor couldn’t get any cuter enter Michael’s two sisters who were the two bridesmaids and gave an excellent toast, lightly teasing their brother of course. Proud parents, loving siblings, sweet neices and a nephew = a wedding that truly stands apart and photos full of happiness and joy.

Oh, and the final secret ingredient? Love at first sight. Michael told Trish when he laid eyes on Jenny he was instantly smitten. Smitten is a good word… and an even better emotion. Sprinkling in some smittenness is always a good idea.

The look? Soft, femenine, chic, and romantic. Here’s who made it happen!

chris + jennifer’s wedding at belle mer, newport ri

Last chance to put your sunglasses on before you are hit, BAM! with a ton of sparkle and glamour. How do you spell Jennifer? G-L-I-T-Z-Y!!! She’s a true girly girl and her better half is the perfect manly compliment! They live in Las Vegas, and brought their glam-a-fied ways with them and we sure do appreciate so much eye candy {and real candy} to photograph. Every corner, nook, and surface was expertly adorned with shades of yellow, grey, and dazzle. It was truly a fun event to feast your eyes on! Big thanks to Jaime Nelson of Eventfully Planned for making this day go off hitch-less. Jaime even preformed emergency surgery on the bride’s zipper. Crisis averted! Another shout out to Emily {and her grey and yellow ensemble} and the rest of the team at Belle Mer, all true professionals. Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the creator of the flowers extraordinaire… Semia, of Flowers by Semia! We know you’re wondering about the cake and dessert table too. The cake was made by Kate Repko and the dessert table is the creation of Sweet Indulgence. Glamour help from Larissa Lake, and lastly… Jen’s dress?! Pnina Tornai!

briana and matt’s wedding at the island house, belle mer

As we were driving over the bridge to Goat Island we couldn’t believe how the wind was making these insane waves and we had to jump out of the car to get a shot of the island, the bridge, the lighthouse, and of course the waves which were this gorgeous green/blue color. How strange that the first thing we photographed was Briana’s invitation and the ceremony programs and that the theme of the stationary was big blue/green waves. Did Briana conjure this weather with her design elements? Maybe… but then her dad told us that he calls her BreeBree, or sometimes Breezy, because she’s well… breezy. Always breezing in and breezing out. So it seems it really couldn’t have been any other way but breezy on Briana’s wedding day. Although, breezy is a bit of an understatement. Epic gales better describe the day. Is Briana’s middle name Gale maybe? Aside from the wind, the thing that struck us most about this day was the kiss at the end of the ceremony. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. The emotion was palpable and made you feel all warm inside (good thing because of the aforementioned gales). And it lasted a looooong time. I could have gone inside, ordered a glass of wine, drunk it… I could have practically crushed the grapes myself and still made it outside in time for the recessional. It was really heartwarming and a true testament to how crazy Briana and Matt are for each other. That’s the element you can’t design… and the one that matters the most in life and especially in the photos!

P.S. When we grow up, we want an uncle like Uncle Matt, seriously… are these the two luckiest flower girls in the world? {sigh….}

so many pretty details and only so much blog space… what is a snapper to do? belle mer is always a favorite venue to snap. it’s gorgeous, and it’s sparkly white decor is a lovely blank slate for all the fabulous wedding touches. semia’s floral arrangements were luscious and breathtaking. the cupcakes by our friends {marie and mark} at confectionery designs were literally to drool for in flavors of gingerbread, coconut, and chocolate. the staff at belle mer always makes things run so smoothly and we want to give a special snap shout out to emily and lorena who were especially awesome at kaelyn and ben’s wedding. kaelyn made the sweet little christmas ornament wedding favors herself, isn’t she so crafty? kaelyn’s dad gave the best toast ever about how much he loves ben and how happy he has to have him as a son in law! i’ve never heard anything so sweet. just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better? we got a little box of cupcakes to take home for our very own and some lovely wine from the bride and groom to wash it down with! we {heart} our jobs!

we’ve been so excited to blog these photos, it’s been torture for us waiting for the photos to come back from the lab after the holiday break. i felt like it was christmas all over again when i got to download the photos last night. this morning i popped out of bed way earlier than usual because i knew that kaelyn and ben’s photos were waiting patiently to be blogged. it’s so fun to sift through the photos, picking my favorites and giving them a little snap flair. it certainly was not easy to whittle the number of photos down to a handful for blogging. why? because kaelyn and ben are gorgeous and handsome {respectively}, their good looks are only outshone by their sunny & sweet personalities, we had an amazingly warm december day for thir wedding, we found a magical spot for the formal photos, every detail of the day was perfect, and we were working with amazing vendors. it was the cherry on top of a stellar snap! season.

all the girls had insanely beautiful hair; expertly coiffed by the ladies at new leaf salon {ashley, recently engaged herself- holla!} and {jenn}. their makeup was done by kristina jones. that killer bouquet was done by the queen of the”bigger the better bouquet”, {semia} at flowers by semia. the lovely grey dresses worn by the even lovelier bridesmaids is by bill levkoff {and incidently inspiration for snap!’s new grey color scheme}.

kaelyn and ben got ready at pearls of newport and tied the knot at saint thomas moore parish in narragansett ri.
