roxanne and charlie’s wedding had so many beautiful traditions from both of their family backgrounds. roxanne is persian so there were traditional persian touches at the ceremony. the sofra (elaborately decorated platform) was filled with delicious sweet treats and flowers. a mirror was placed on the platform so that roxanne and charlie could see their married reflection inside it. at the end of the ceremony they were sprinkled with sugar to promote a sweet life together, fed each other honey, and charlie broke a glass from the jewish tradition in his family. my favorite part of the ceremony (which performed by roxanne’s auntie) was when she told them to let the small irritations in life be like a grain of sand to be turned into pearls. well said! if they can do that, they ought to be alright! i would be remiss if i did not mention the breathtaking placecard table created by semia. she really out did herself with that!
