katie + nick’s wedding at belle mer, newport ri… part two

when we were leaving the church we spotted this fun lime green wall down the street, and since katie’s colors were orange and lime green we decided we must stop off there first for some limey type photos. unfortunately the trolley driver did not share our vision. he was absolutely horrified by our choice of backgrounds and pleaded with us to consider a more scenic location. i told him we were sure about the wall and that it would all be okay. apparently he didn’t buy it because after about 5 minutes of photoing, he defiantly drove the trolley up onto the curb and insisted we get going. oh well- we got what we needed, but boy everyone is a critic! of course we had planned all along for some prettier backgrounds in addition to the green wall, but limey-ness of the whole thing was just too good to pass up. i hope the driver approved of our next stop which was the square in back of trinity church and very pretty indeed. after some fun traipsing around downtown we headed back to belle mer for family photos and cocktail hour. while trish wrangled the families for pictures i had the fun job of snapping some of these gorgeous details. i want to make a point to say that the cake (by confectionery designs) was nearly too beautiful to eat. not only was it a stunning focal point but it smelled absolutely heavenly.  belle mer does a fantastic job with the food, doesn’t the grilled pizza look to die for? setting everything off were the magnificent table arrangements by stoneblossom. the reception was in a word, perfection.
